In a country that works well, the citizen believes that the system is right and that it follows the rules, even if he perfectly knows that he will not necessarily be the direct beneficiary of his commitment and sacrifices. The citizen trusts that, if he will not have the chance to realise his dreams, his children will probably have it. The deep trust in equal opportunities makes the citizen of meritocratic societies tolerate inequality because he believes in social mobility. Finally the birth right and the idea of the divine rights of the sovereign of feudal imprint are overcome, those impostures that for centuries have justified the privileges towards the subjects. This is what I dream of for Italy.
